Ernest William Randolph, 95, of Lafayette, died at 11:26 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2012, at Rosewalk Village.
He was born April 5, 1917, in Lafayette, to the late John and Lela Kelly Randolph.
He served in the United States Army as a Sgt. from October 1, 1941, to December 19, 1945.
He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in Lafayette.
On October 16, 1948, he married Mary Prien at St James Lutheran Church and she passed away on August 28, 2002.Mr. Randolph attended Brady Lane Church of Christ. He enjoyed reading, collecting coins, gardening, genealogy, history and time spent with his family and friends.
Surviving are his son, David A. (wife: Bonnie) Randolph, of Lafayette; daughter Susan E. Randolph, of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Jennifer (husband: Fred) Taylor, of Lafayette, and Kyle (wife: Kari) Randolph, of Bloomington; and three great-grandchildren, Joshua M. Randolph, of Indianapolis, Henry A. Randolph and Leo L. Randolph, both of Bloomington.
He also had two special cats, Junior and Smokey.
His brother, Russell E. Randolph, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be Tuesday 5-8 p.m. April 16, 2012, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Funeral Service 10 a.m. Wednesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Rev. J. William Overbay officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
