Emory E. Baldwin, 90, formerly of Lafayette, died at 10:34 am. Friday July 1, 2011, at Zionsville Meadows Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 18, 1920, in Fowler, he was the son of the late Ernest and Effie Hayes Baldwin. He graduated from Fowler High School and served in the U.S. Army from Aug. 23, 1944 to July 28, 1946.
He married Eva Lorrene Simpson on July 4, 1940, in Lafayette and she preceded him in death on June 25, 2005.
Mr. Baldwin owned and operated Baldwin Realty in Lafayette and was retired. He was a member of First Christian Church, American Legion, VFW (40 and 8), Elks and Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed camping, vacationing in Florida and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are his children, Robert E. Baldwin (wife: Charmaine) of Huntersville, N.C. and Rebecca L. Baldwin Patton (husband: Dennis) of Zionsville.
Also surviving are grandchildren Michael Sietsma, Marc Baldwin, Jeffrey Baldwin, Kirk Baldwin, Jennifer Patton Fries and Nathan Patton, and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Judith Sietsma; granddaughter Tammy Sietsma, and two brothers, Harold and Everett Baldwin, and friend and brother of heart Merrill D. Barrett.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to a 11 a.m. service Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Rev. Greg Eberhard officiating. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
