Elsie E. Elton, 94, of Lafayette, died at 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2011, at her residence. She was formerly of Youngstown, Ohio.
Born May 7, 1916, in Youngstown, she was the daughter of the late Wilhelm and Anna Johnson Zetterquist.
On Dec. 5, 1938, she married Rodway Elton in Youngstown, and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Elton was a manager at Clear Sylk Department Store and JCPenney in Youngstown before retiring.
Surviving are her daughters,Virginia E. Remick of Lafayette and Carroll Bell (husband: Ivan) of Shelby Township, Mich.

To the family of Elsie Elton: We are so sorry to read about your recent loss. It is always sad to lose a very dear member of the family. It is my hope as a community volunteer to share a bit of comfort with you. In the Bible book of John 11:11,14, Jesus likens death to sleep. Thinking of our loved ones as in a deep sleep can bring us peace of mind and heart. Further words of Jesus point to an awakening from this sleep. He says at John 5:28,29: ""Do not marvel at this, because all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out....."" Yes, the Creator longs to bring back to life those asleep in death. What a wonderful promise and sure future for our dear loved ones asleep in death. We hope you can find a measure of peace in this time of loss. We express our deepest sympathy.
