Elizabeth”Libby” Turnipseed, 82, of Lafayette, IN left earth to be in heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 4:55 AM Wednesday October 23, 2013 at Rosewalk VillageShe was born May 8, 1931, in Lafayette, IN, to the late Herschal and Hilda Werner Croy. Libby graduated from Lafayette Jefferson high school. On June, 26, 1949 in Lafayette she married Paul W. Turnipseed who preceded her in death in October 1998. After raising her kids, Libby worked at GTE as a telephone operator for 23 years. She was a lifetime member and faithful attender of Immanuel United Church of Christ where she delighted in being in Sunday school each day she was able. She loved spending time with her family and was a blessing to all those around her at Rosewalk Village.She was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter Stacy Turnipseed and brothers Herschal and Donald Croy.Surviving are Daughter,Cynthia Hawkins husband Paul , Lafayette, IN Sons, Stanley A.Turnipseed wife Terrylee, Greenwood,In ; Steven P. Turnipseed wife Marilyn, Grand Rapids,MI as well as five grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Private family service to be held at Immanuel United Church of Christ with burial at the Dayton Cemetery.

Libby was my mother, Dorothy Sense's, cousin. I used to babysit for Stan and Steve when I was in the 7th grade. In recent years we were not close, but I was always happy to see Libby at MCL with Cindy etc. She was always a happy person.
