Elizabeth J. “Bette” Dwenger, 62 of Lafayette, passed away at 3:35 pm on Friday, March 17, 2017 at St. Elizabeth East.
She was born January 30, 1955 in Lafayette to the late George and Lois (Altepeter) Dwenger.
In 1973 Bette graduated from Benton Central High School and then went on to attend Purdue University.
Bette had worked in admissions at Lafayette Home Hospital and was the Lifeline Representative at both St. Elizabeth and Home Hospitals. She had also worked at Ayr-way, Target and Kohl’s.
She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great nieces and nephews, and listening to 60’s and 70’s music.
Surviving are four sisters, Patricia Dwenger of Lafayette, Paula Dwenger of West Lafayette, Nancy Schroeder (Steve) of Mandan, ND, and Phyllis Kochert (Skip) of Lafayette as well as two brothers, Bob Dwenger (Barb) of Boswell and Ted Dwenger (Nancy) of Sulphur, KY, and an uncle, Donald Dwenger. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Bette was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Dwenger and a brother, Ronald Dwenger.
Friends may call from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel with the Rosary service starting at 4:45. Mass of Christian burial will start at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lafayette with Fr. Eric Underwood officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Dunnington at 2:00 pm on Wednesday.
Those wishing may contribute in Bette’s name to either the Diabetes Association or St. Mary Cemetery Fund in Dunnington.
