Eileen Roswarski, 79, died Monday, July 29th, and joined her Lord in eternity. Eileen was born on November 12,1933 in Lafayette, to the late Matthew F. and Theresa G. Bollock Roswarski, raised and lived her entire life in Lafayette. Eileen embraced life with an optimistic spirit and great attitude! She was an avid reader, and enjoyed bowling, going to movies, shopping, and a good game of Yahtzee. Eileen attended Longlois Elementary School and Lafayette Jefferson High School. She was a member of the Cerebral Palsy Association and participated in their bowling league. She worked at the Wabash Center Workshop and Kids Connection for nearly 20 years, where she brought many smiles and much laughter. Eileen was long-time North end resident, and she was a contributor to the Monon Shops Neighborhood Association Newsletter, writing a column reflecting on the history of the Monon Shops and the Monon neighborhood. Eileen was a life-long member of St. Lawrence Parish and a devout Catholic. Eileen had great love for and pride in her family and friends. She was an inspiration to her 60 nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was a babysitter to many of them, as well as to numerous children throughout the neighborhood. She was the keeper of the family history and if anyone needed any information, Eileen could provide it. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, neighbors, and all who had contact with her. Eileen is survived by a brother Robert A. Roswarski of Lafayette and a very special longtime friend Marsha Bunten. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary Schmitz, four brothers, John Roswarski, Kenneth Roswarski, Paul (Roswarski) Ross and James Roswarski. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, rosary at 10:45 AM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, burial at St. Boniface Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Eileen's name to the St. Lawrence School Expansion Fund c/o St. Lawrence Parish, 1916 Meharry Street, Lafayette, IN 47904.
