Eileen Grace Dahmen, 78, of West Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 after a brief illness.
Eileen was born October 1, 1942, in Vallejo, CA, to the late Albert Leonard and Nadine Helen Strang Wood. She grew up in Nevada City and Sacramento California.
In 1964 she married Wayne Joseph Dahmen and moved to New Jersey in 1971 with 5 children in tow. In addition to raising her family, there Eileen was president of the school board and Girl Scouts. She also completed her Masters in Child Psychology. In 2001, after retiring from Bell Labs / Lucent, they relocated to MA and later in 2013 to West Lafayette.
Surviving are her children Dave Fisher, Jesse Wolfe, Kathryn Dahmen, John Dahmen (Linda Hwang), Brian Dahmen (Kim Yong), Lynne Dahmen (Ahmed Idrissi Alami) and seven grandchildren.
Eileen was extremely pragmatic and positive in her outlook in life. She loved making the world a brighter place, surrounding herself with memorabilia of family, flowers and butterflies. Eileen enjoyed sharing time with friends and family, being organized, and cross stitching. She was generous with her time, love, and family values.
Service will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West, West Lafayette, officiating Rev. Rick Ryan
