Edward Dean Newton

Edward Dean Newton, 66, of Lafayette, died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at his residence.
He was born December 24, 1945, in Glendale, CA, to the late Forrest and Ruth Newton.
On April 28, 1965 he married Betty Erdie in Ringgold, GA and she survives.
Edward retired in 2008 after several years as a drywall finisher for the International Brotherhood of Painters and Decorators.
Surviving along with his wife Betty is a daughter Ms. Katherine L. McQuinn of Lafayette; a brother Dennis L. Newton (wife Patrice) of Lafayette; a sister Linda Jo Moore of Auburn; seven grandchildren – Brittany Marie Olivia Whitenack (husband Daniel), Brian Lynn Truax II, Jack Heaton McQuinn, Hannah Christine Mansdorfer, Edward David McQuinn, Mark Lowell Newton McQuinn and Jacob Dean Mansdorfer.
He was preceded in death by daughter Laurie Christine Mansdorfer.
Visitation will be 5 to 7:30 PM Friday, August 10, 2012 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, IN 47909 with Pastor David Herrick officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers those wishing may contribute to the Laurie Christine Mansdorfer Memorial Fund, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
