Edna Mae Walkup, 86, of West Lafayette died Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Indiana Veterans Home. She was born May 25, 1928, in Fowler to the late Chris and Bessie Robertson Sorenson. Edna graduated from Wadena High School and on April 17, 1947 she married Harold Walkup in Fowler and he survives. She had been a member of the First Christian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Edna enjoyed watching Purdue Basketball games, NASCAR races, going to flea markets, antiquing and yard sales. Surviving along with her husband are her children Pam Hurst of West Lafayette, Pat (Williams)Walkup of West Lafayette, Roy Walkup (Lisa) of Camden, 5 grandchildren and several great grand children. Also surviving is her sister Mary Hoover of Watseka, IL. Edna was preceded in death by brothers Dale and James Sorenson, sisters Ruth Peck, Betty McDaniel and Martha Vessels. Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 PM Thursday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Funeral service will be 2:30 PM Thursday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Interment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
