Earaleta “Lee” Kaye (Barrick) Yoder, 82 of Dayton, passed away at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at BeeHive Homes of Lafayette.
Lee was born December 6, 1938 in Watseka, Illinois, to the late Noah C. and Bertha M. Hickman and graduated from Milford High School in Illinois in 1956.
She married Robert D. Evans in 1956 and later divorced in 1963. She was then married for 53 years to the late Patrick L. (Barrick) Yoder who preceded her in death on March 5, 2017.
She worked in civil service from 1962 until 1996. She earned a BS degree in Management from Golden Gate University in California in 1989. She also worked at State Farm in Lafayette until retirement.
Lee was a talented pianist; learning to play piano as a child. She taught piano lessons for many years, played piano at numerous dance recitals, and also played for Sunday Church Services for many churches, including Stidham United Methodist Church in Lafayette and Battle Ground Methodist Church. She was very active after retirement with the Veteran’s Administration, volunteering at the Indiana Veteran’s Home and the Lafayette CASA program.
Surviving are two children, Robert D. Evans, Jr. of Battle Ground and Linda Tarkington of Lafayette and eight grandchildren. Preceding her in death was a daughter, Kelly Sappington, 58, of Elkhart who passed away November 7, 2020.
