Duane Earl Richardson, 75, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Ben Hur Nursing Home in Crawfordsville, where he had been a beloved resident for many years. Duane, known to all as Butch, was born on June 18, 1939 in Lafayette to Mary Ellen (Stovall) Richardson of Lafayette and the late Earl A. Richardson. He was a very special birthday present to his father. Butch fought a battle from the moment he was born and even though he was not supposed to make it past four years of age he defied all odds. He may not have been able to speak or know anyone, but he was loved dearly by his family and the staff at his home. He is survived by his mother; three sisters, Carolyn (Dan) Arihood and Peggy (Eldon) Harrison both of Lafayette, and Judy (Ron) Hinds of Otterbein along with a brother Phil (Julie) Richardson of Wickenburg, AZ. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great and great great nieces and nephews. Butch was preceded in death by his father and a great nephew, Zachary Hinds. There will be a graveside service at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Boswell Cemetery, Boswell, IN.
