Douglas J. Blair, 38
CLARKS HILL ? Douglas James Blair, 38, of Clarks Hill, died at 2:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at Regency Place in Lafayette.
He was born on Nov. 3, 1972, in Lafayette, and was the son of Barbara Verhey Blair of Lafayette and the late Fredrick James Blair.
He graduated from McCutcheon High School and Ivy Tech State College.
On Sept. 12, 1998, he married Kristel Kirkman in Lafayette, and she survives.
Mr. Blair was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and National Rifle Association. He enjoyed cars, NASCAR and dogs.
Surviving with his wife and mother are a sister, Debbi Halsema of Battle Ground; and brothers, John “Jake” Blair, Bruce Blair (wife: Lynn) and Bill Blair (wife: Raynae), all of Lafayette.
Also surviving are nieces and nephews, April Phillips, Shelley Walden, John Blair Jr., RJ Blair and Hunter Blair, all of Lafayette, Missy Smith, Attica, Kyle Blair, North Carolina, and many great-nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Fredrick James Blair June 10, 2007.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Memorial service 7 p.m. Saturday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, the Rev. Dr. Ronald Wunsch officiating. I am very sorry to learn of the loss of Douglass. I didn&t know him personally but I did want to express my sympathy to the family. In these situations, sometimes we wish we could see them one more time. You can! In John 5:28,29 it says that those that have died will be resurrected back to life. It will be so nice when Jehovah God bring back all those loved ones, like Douglass, and we can once again enjoy their love and company!
