Dorothy Mae Haan, 91, of Lafayette died Saturday June 16, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Central. She was born December 1, 1920, in Waveland to the late B. Wilson and Leona Pearson Smith. Dorothy graduated from Battle Ground High School and on September 25, 1940 she married Charles L. Haan at St. Boniface Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on May 24, 2011. She worked as an Administrative Assistant in Fowler Residence Hall at Purdue University and later was Assistant Administrator at Tippecanoe Villa for 20 years. Mrs. Haan was a member of Church of the Blessed Sacrament and enjoyed knitting, camping, traveling, line dancing, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her children C. Thomas Haan wife Jan of Stillwater, OK, Robert L. Haan wife Ellie of Lafayette, Donald E. Haan wife Frances of Oklahoma City, OK, Fredrick A. Haan wife Judy of West Lafayette, 18 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a daughter- in -law Jane Haan of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by son William D. Haan, granddaughter Donna F. Horsley, sister Marjorie Klaiber and brother Lee Smith. Visitation will be 6-8 PM, with Rosary at 7:30 PM Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel , 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Fr. David Buckles officiating. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery. Those wishing may contribute to the American Cancer Society or Church of the Blessed Sacrament.
