Dorothy L. Jackson, 77, of Lafayette, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at the home of her daughter, where she had resided since becoming ill two years ago.
She was born Nov. 2, 1933, in Lafayette, and was the daughter of the late Lester and Lillian Hague. She graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1951 and was on the reunion committee for the class.
Her marriage, in 1952, was to Clarence Jackson in Lafayette. He survives.
Mrs. Jackson worked at Alcoa and also at Milner Co. for 30 years. She then retired from the Lafayette Police Department records division.
She and enjoyed attending festivals and community events.
Also surviving is a daughter, Jennifer German (husband: Doug) of Delphi.
Also surviving are her two granddaughters, Ashley Rose and Hannah Grace Ewing, who were the light of her life. Preceded in death by a brother, William Hague; and 2 sisters, Rose Hinton and Ruth Ann Neuman.
Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Those wishing may contribute to the Natalie&s Second Chance Dog Shelter, 10 S. 16th St., Lafayette, IN 47901.
