Dorothy L. Barbee

Dorothy L. Barbee, 90, of Lafayette, IN, died at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Rosewalk Village. She was born February 12, 1922, in Mount Vernon, IL, to the late Oscar and Alta Boswell Young. She graduated from Normal High School, Normal IL.
On June 30,1939, she married Frank A. Barbee and he passed away on July 28, 1992.Dorothy Worked at Lafayette Instrument for 16 years as an assembly worker and 17 years for Sarge Biltz as a waitress.
Surviving are her three daughters, Carol Bennett, husband Robert, Plainwell, MI, Mary Barbee, Rochester, Donna Barbee, Lafayette; and son, Frank G. Barbee, wife Judy, Lafayette; two sisters, Gladys Rustemeyer, Bloomington,IL, and Helen Thomas, Lafayette; grandchildren, Debbie Bennett, Rita Robertson, Teresa Melone, Michael Bennett, Susan Lovell, Angie Bennett, Rodney Barbee, Matthew Barbee, Christi Mindum, Michelle Barbee and Robert A. Bennett; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, with service to follow at 3 p.m., Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Pastor Timothy Rodriguez officiating.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Ozzie Young; a sister, Ava Wilson; and grandson, Brian Bennett.
