Donlad Dee Mull Sr.

Donald Dee Mull Sr, 87, of West Lafayette, died at 3:55 AM Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Indiana Veterans Home.
He was born May 11, 1924, in Lafayette, to the late George and Fredricka Gibson Mull.
He served in the United States Army, and while serving during the European Theatre he was a two time POW.
On August 26, 1950 he married Margaret Watkins in Crawfordsville. She died June 7, 2005.
Donald worked for Ross Gear for over 30 years before retiring, he also worked for Purdue University, was a handy man in the Oxford and Attica area and worked with his son-in-law recycling scrap metal.
He was a member of American Legion Post #11, UAW Local 531, He was a foster parent and Foster Grandparent to over 100 children.
Surviving are two daughters Mary Hicks (husband Joe), Margaret “”Peggy”” Anderson (husband Mike) both of Oxford, two sons Donald Dee Mull Jr (wife Pat), Richard “”Tom”” Mull (wife Ruby) both of Lafayette, a sister-in-law Ginny Mull of Lafayette, two brother-in-laws Chester Yerkes of Otterbein and
Angus Minnick of Veedersburg also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
He was prceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at 11:00 am Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Indiana Veterans Home Chapel with Pastor Bonnie Shoaf officiating.
In lieu of flowers those wishing may contribute to the Almost Home Humane Society.

Dear Don, Pat & family.... Someone did a very good job in writing your father&s obituary and I can see from the photo that you do bear a strong likeness to him. He led an interesting life.

It&s so hard when the old ones leave us. We know they are better off in their heavenly home; yet, there remains a yearning to see them again and desire to tell them just one more time that we love them. My dear cousin, may your grief soon be replaced with the good memories you shared.

My deepest condolences to all of Mr. Mull&s family. Although I wasn&t familiar with him, I am friends with a number of his family members; and, I know he was a great influence in their lives and what they have become in their adult years!

I know you will miss him, but you have to know he now is in a better place.
