Don Hoskins, 76, of Lafayette passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 at IU Arnett Hospital. He was born in Lafayette in 1939 to the late Donald and Clara McNeely Hoskins. Don attended Lafayette Jefferson High School before serving in the United States Navy aboard the USS Brinkley Bass. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Beverly Hoskins, daughter of the late Elmer and Irene Kerber of Lafayette. Don was a fireman with the Lafayette Fire Department for over 30 years and was retired at the time of his death. He was a member of the Retired Police and Firefighter Association, a baptized Christian, a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Lafayette, and supported St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Don loved animals and will be missed by Cruz, Agatha, and Louise. Don was preceded in death by a sister Carol McNeely Cobbs. Surviving along with his wife are his son Aaron A. Hoskins of Madison, WI, a brother Thomas Hoskins (husband of Roberta) of Linden, sisters Ruth Ann Green (wife of Glen) of Fowler and Sue Henschel of Oshkosh, WI. Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until the time of service at 3:30 PM on Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Pastor David Doane officiating. Last Alarm service will be at 3:15 PM. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery. Those wishing may contribute in Don’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Lafayette, or the Dane County Humane Society (Wisconsin).
