Donald E. Wise, 80
Donald E. Wise, 80, of Lafayette, died at 6:40 a.m. Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Rosewalk Village.
He was born Oct. 14, 1930, in Jackson Township, to the late Lon and May Chenault Wise. He graduated from Clarks Hill high School .
On Feb. 15, 1987, he married Margarie Munson Hamilton.
Mr. Wise worked at Tipmont REMC in Linden as groundman for 29 years.
He was active and worked part time with the 2000 census. He was past president of the Linden Conservation Club and The Linden Town Board.
Surviving are his wife, Margarie A. Wise of Lafayette; daughters, Vicky Matthews and Debra Stevens, both of Crawfordsville, Donna Edwards (husband: Mike) of West Lafayette; a stepson, Ronald J. Hamilton of Lafayette; a stepdaughter, Debra A. Barrick (husband: Jay) of Lafayette; and one brother, Ralph Wise (wife: Betty), also of Lafayette
Also surviving are 29 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by infant daughter, Cheryl Wise, a sister, Ethel Frey, and brother, Raymond Wise.
Memorial visitation is Wednesday, April 27, from 1-2 p.m. at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel followed by the Memorial service at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Clayton Kendall officiating. Those wishing may contribute to the American Lung Association; www.soller-baker.com

To the Wise family,

I was very sorry to hear of Don&s passing. He and I worked together at Car Quest and Napa, and I enjoyed working with him. I was amazed at his woodworking skills. I am sorry I am not able to pay my respects in person, but please know he will be missed by the other three guys who also worked with him, as well as myself.
