Donald C. Watkins, 93, of West Lafayette, died at 6:26 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus.
Born May 25, 1916, in Monticello, he was the son of the late Clarence and Clevo Williams Watkins.
On Dec. 31, 1935, he married Doris Holloway in Monticello, and she died on June 23, 2007.
Mr. Watkins worked in maintenance services at White County Memorial Hospital before retiring in 1980. He served in the Civil Air Patrol during World War II.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and liked to travel.
Surviving are two daughters, Pequita Behrndt (husband: John) of Lafayette and Anita Edmonson of Olean, N.Y.; a brother, Albert “Bert” Watkins of Lafayette; and a sister, Louise Watkins of Frankfort.
Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death by a son, Donald D. Watkins; a daughter, Connie Watkins; 2 brothers, Billy and Robert “Buddy” Watkins; and a sister, Jeanne Kreig.
Visitation 1 hour prior to the 2 p.m. service on Monday, March 15, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909, the Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Interment at Yeoman Cemetery. Those wishing may contribute to the St. Elizabeth Hospice at 1415 Salem St., Suite 202W, Lafayette, IN 47904.

I(Elaine) was in Don&s class of 1962. Ruth was in Anita&s class I think. Tom graduated in 1957.
Mom(NITA) is 93 and still doing ok.
