Donald B. Long, 89, of Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Five Star Residences.

He was born December 7, 1934, in Clinton County, IN, to the late Paul and Gladys (Morrison) Long.

Donald graduated from Mulberry High School and attended Purdue University.

On September 3, 1954, he married Mary Jo McKinnis in Colfax. She passed away on July 19, 2010.

Donald worked for Rea Magnet Wire for over 35 years before retiring on March 16, 1995.

He was a former member of the Order of Odd Fellows and Dayton United Methodist Church now known as Gathering Point Church.

Donald enjoyed watching his grandchildren play soccer, the Chicago Cubs, IU Basketball, fishing, camping and his dog Mandy.

Surviving is a daughter, Jan King of Lafayette, two sons, Gary Long of Conway, SC and Randy (Janice) Long of Lafayette. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to until the time of the service at 4:00 pm on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd.  Lafayette, with Pastor Eric Schneider officiating.  Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery in Colfax, IN.
