Dolores A. Stone

Dolores Ann (Reuter) Stone, age 85, of Lafayette passed away peacefully at 8:29 p.m. on March 8, 2012 with her family by her side. Born on February 18, 1927 and raised in Goodland, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Edmund Reuter and Katherine Illingworth Reuter. She was a 1945 graduate of Goodland High School and subsequent to receiving training in bookkeeping, was Office Manager at Sherman White and Company in Goodland until her marriage.
Dolores married Milton F. Stone, Jr. on November 24, 1956 in Goodland and he preceded her in death on September 4, 2005. Following her wedding, Dolores relocated to Lafayette where she has since resided. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. With her late husband, Dolores was the co-owner of Stone Drugs as well as the pharmacy?s bookkeeper for 18 years. Besides being an avid gardener, especially growing tomatoes, Dolores was known for her generous nature and enjoyed sharing garden produce and treating friends and family to wonderful dinners. She also dearly loved all things related to her grandson, Nicholas, to whom she was a devoted grandmother.
Surviving are two daughters; Katherine A. Stone of Lafayette and Lisa M. Stone of Lafayette; and two sons, Milton F. “Chip” Stone III of Lafayette and Stephen S. Stone of Santa Fe, New Mexico. She is also survived by her grandson, Nicholas Stone of Lafayette as well as her sister, Ruth Reuter of Goodland. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Katherine Franson of Goodland, Mildred Reuter of Goodland, Eileen Emond of Wolcott, and one brother; Lt. Col. Edmund Reuter, Jr. of Clearwater, Florida.
Friends may call at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Boulevard, from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2012 with Rosary service at 4:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lafayette with Father Jeff Martin officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association or Central Catholic High School. Burial to follow at St. Mary?s Catholic Cemetery.

So sorry for your loss. There are no words that I can say to make it better. Time does not heal all wounds. Time does allow us to better deal with those wounds. I do not believe that Science and Religion conflict. One thing that always gave me comfort is that energy never dissipates; it just turns into something else. Einstein proved that. So, the energy that makes each of us unique which I believe is your soul never dissipates. It just turns into something else. She is on a different plane of existence now...Heaven.
