Denise Marie Albrecht, 49, of Lafayette passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at her residence, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born March 6, 1965, in Lafayette, 7 minutes after her life long best friend and twin sister Diann. Denise graduated from Harrison High School in 1983 and Rudae's Beauty School in 1988. On March 28, 1987 she married Tony Albrecht in Louisville, KY and he survives. Denise worked as an office assistant for Lafayette School Corporation at Amelia Earhart Elementary School. She was a member of St Lawrence Catholic Church. Denise was active in School organizations and enjoyed gardening and watching her children's sporting events. She thoroughly enjoyed her family trips to Florida and elsewhere. Surviving along with her husband are her children Lauren Kathleen Albrecht of Indianapolis, Nicholas Andrew Albrecht, Austin Michael Albrecht and Alexander Ryan Albrecht all of Lafayette, her parents Richard E. Metzger (Andrea) of Lafayette and Dolores E. Dilling (William) of Attica, siblings Suzanne Ryan (Dave) of Attica, Joseph Metzger (Laurie), Marisa Marcussen (William), Diann Kirby (Jeff) and Theresa Cooper all of Lafayette. Also surviving is a brother-in-law Jeffrey Albrecht (Adrienne), a sister-in-law Cathy Brady (Scott) all of Lafayette, father-in-law and mother-in-law Roger and Marilyn (Anlinker) Albrecht. Nieces and nephews Jessie Bower, Lisa Crawford (Charles), Joseph Bower, Katherine Marcussen, Kiernan Kirby, Tyler Kirby, Travis Kirby, Jessica Cooper, Joseph Price, Alaina Albrecht, Kayla Brady, Claudia Albrecht, Justin Brady, Eva Albrecht and 5 great nephews and 1 great niece. Denise was preceded in death by a nephew Justin Cooper, grandparents Jess and Alice Highland and Joseph and Frances Metzger. Visitation will be 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Monday at St Lawrence Catholic Church, Fr. Daniel Gartland officiating. Interment will be at St. Boniface Cemetery. Those wishing to contribute in Denise's memory may donate to the American Cancer Society, Riley Children's Hospital or the Golden Broncho Club.
