Dena Carey, 61, of Attica, IN, died at 7:15 PM Thursday, November 10, 2011, at her residence.
She was born August 17, 1950, in Carmel, IN, to Billy and Eleanor Carey. They survive and reside in Lafayette.
She graduated from East Tipp High School in 1969 and from Lafayette Beauty Academy .
She retired from Eli Lilly.
She enjoyed reading, painting, and her cats.
Surviving along with her parents are two sisters Alane Medley, husband Todd, of Veedersburg, Luanne Wagoner, husband Larry, of Lafayette, 1 niece and 3 nephews. 5 great-nieces and 3 great-nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, November 15, 2011, from 5-7PM at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Funeral Services will be private.

Bill and family:
I&m sorry to hear of her passing and wish you all the best. May God bless you in your recovery. I knew her for only short periods of time but she was good to me. As well as you guys. I&ve known you 2 for a long time (even tho we didn&t see much of each other). Let&s blame it on dad. As you may know, he died several years ago but I&ve always wanted to keep in touch with the people I met as a child thru Dad&s friends.

You don&t know me, But I knew Dena. She trained me to run the filtration units at Eli Lilly. I worked on her shift, and performed a lot of the same work that she did. My deepest sympathy is with you in your time of grief. Many of us here at the plant will miss her as well. She was a decent and caring human being. I found her to be fun to work with and interesting to talk with. She would pull practical jokes on people whom she liked. She was quiet when you first met her, but would really open up once she knew you.
