Debrough G. Stark, 64, of Lafayette died Thursday, May 5, 2016 at IU Arnett Hospital. She was born January 11, 1952, in Gadsden, AL to Bett Garner Tillman (husband Lowell) of Birmingham, AL and the late James Garner. Debrough graduated from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, with a degree in chemistry and received her Master’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. She worked as a biochemist for 9 years at the National Institutes of Health, Eastern Virginia Medical School, and Eli Lilly. On July 31, 1976, she married Eric Stark in Birmingham, AL, and he survives. Debrough was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon and Elder. She was active in Bible Study Fellowship for more than 10 years, serving as a discussion leader for many years. Surviving along with her husband are her daughters Julie E. Stark of Indianapolis and Amy C. Stark (Fiancé Jennifer Griffith) of Knoxville, TN. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 pm on Sunday, May 8, at Bethany Presbyterian Church, Rev. Kevin Bowers officiating. Those wishing, may contribute to Bethany Presbyterian Church in Debrough’s memory in lieu of flowers.
