Dean L. Cotton, 75, of Lafayette, IN, passed away at 10:20 AM Saturday July 20, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Central Emergency Room. He was born December 24, 1937, in Mendota, Illinois, to the late Lloyd and Irene Klein Cotton. He graduated from Mendota High School in Mendota, Illinois. Dean received his Mechanical Engineering Degree from Bradley University. He was a Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois and Indiana. Retiring in 1999 from Lafayette Caterpillar as an Engineer. In retirement years he enjoyed writing a family documentary The Book” Oneness” (The 1909 Cherry Cole Mine Disaster) Dean currently owned and operated with his family “Primo's Supper Club” (Mendota, Illinois). He married Lorena B. Galletti on December 27, 1958 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Naplate, Illinois- Dean and Lorena would have celebrated 55 years of marriage this December. They shared a committed and loving marriage together. Surviving along with his wife are his children: Son Brian D. Cotton, Clawson, Michigan Daughter Nancy Naville-Strong (Husband Will Strong) Lafayette, IN Son Daniel A. Cotton (Wife Magdalena) Mendota, Il Grandchildren:Lisa Naville; Brian Louis Cotton, Joe Naville, Emily Cotton, Kim Cotton Kristi Dotter Strong, Brad Strong and Samantha Strong .Brothers: Bob Cotton,Dale Cotton (Identical Twin). Sisters:Norma Wright (Husband Richard),Carol Sheridan (Husband Jack),Donna Barbier,Janis Ryan Mary Stone (Husband Dwight) . Visitation will be at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Wednesday July 24, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. with Rosary at 4:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Church Thursday July 25th at 10:00 A.M. Officiating will be Father Daniel Gartland. Entombment will be at The Tippecanoe Memory Gardens West Lafayette, IN . Memorial contributions can be made to St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
