David Lee Widner, 44, passed away at his residence on Sunday, December 2, 2018.
He was born February 1, 1974 in Lafayette to Joyce (Rohrer) Widner of Lafayette and the late Dennis Widner.
David graduated from Purdue University and worked many years as a bartender and assistant manager at Grindstone Charlies.
David was an avid Cubs, Colts and Purdue fan. Although David did not have children, his dog, Bakardi, who preceded him in death, was his “little girl”.
For those who knew David, there was no denying his love for his family and friends. David did not know a stranger and his laugh and smile were infectious. David loved to make people laugh, he loved to help others, and he always had a smile on his face, even through some of his most difficult times. He will be missed greatly, never forgotten and always in our hearts.
Surviving along with his mother, Joyce, is a sister, Janee Curwick (Brian) of Lafayette, grandmother, Bonnie Widner of Delphi, nieces and nephews, Logan, Jalynn, Zach (Amber) and Jacob, aunts and uncles, Anita Neeley (Buddy) of Longview, TX, Dick Widner (Karin) of New Braunfels, TX, and Kathy Widner of Willits, CA.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the time of the service at 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel at 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, IN 47909 with Rev. Joe Parks officiating. A private burial will take place at Zion Cemetery near Flora.
Those wishing may contribute in David's name to Bridge's of Hope at 2200 N. Madison Ave. Anderson, IN 46011
