Dave Romano left a message on November 5, 2021:
I think you can measure the impact of someone's life by the size of the hole they leave in your heart. Cody was an incredibly loyal friend, and one who often put the needs of others in front of his own. He truly connected with people, and had so many meaningful relationships with those around him. He did everything at 100%, and dreamed big, not just for himself, but for those he cared about! I'll miss Cody greatly, but have been comforted by the pouring out of love on social media of those impacted by him. To have affected so many people in such a meaningful and impactful way at such a young age is truly a testament to the kind of man he was. Rest easy, Cody. You were #8 on the court, but #1 in my heart.

Our family knew Cody at Turnstone. Two of our kids participate in sports programs there. Cody became a familiar, friendly face to us. He was so kind and willing to help out with the kids’ programs whenever he could! I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing. May Eternal Light shine upon him.

I met Cody through a visit to Fort Wayne for the USA Women's Goalball tournament for qualifications. Out of nowhere this large guy came into our lives on top of a stairwell where my Grandson threw himself into the arms of this man who picked him up with all the joy of Uncle or "someone special". I saw the light in Cody's eye's and my Grandson and knew everything was good. They were buddies. That was Cody! Your buddy, your light, your friend <3
