Cynthia Lynn Bouggy, 55, entered eternal life on Saturday, September 28, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born April 20, 1958 in Indianapolis to Robert and Alice Hood. Her childhood was spent in Indianapolis, where she attended Little Flower Grade School and Scecina Memorial High School. Cindy attended Purdue University, where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority. She earned a degree in dental hygiene from Indiana University School of Dentistry, where she met her husband, Robert Bouggy. They were married June 19, 1982. Bob and Cindy moved to West Lafayette, where Cindy worked as a dental hygienist in her husband's practice. After their first child was born in 1985, Cindy's life work was devoted to raising her four children, whom she loved very much. Cindy's passions included all of her children's activities, the Lafayette Catholic Schools, spending time with her family and her many friends, playing tennis, and attending Purdue University sporting events. Cindy had a great love for Lafayette Central Catholic and Purdue sports, especially tennis. Cindy enjoyed an active lifestyle, with frequent tennis and exercise classes, and walks and runs on campus. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Simon Cancer Center bone marrow transplant unit for their care and compassion. Surviving with her husband are her four children, Brian (wife Susan) of Indianapolis, Lauren, Katherine and Matthew all of West Lafayette, her mother Alice Hood, brothers Robert Hood (wife Karen) and David Hood (wife Cheri), sister Linda Long (husband John) all of Indianapolis, and in-laws Conly and Joan Bouggy of Columbus.
