Corinne MacDonald died peacefully Saturday August 16, in her room at University Place in West Lafayette, Indiana. Born in Lafayette on June 14 1920 to the late John and Ann Reifers. A graduate of Lafayette Jeff and Purdue University where she majored in Home Economics. She was introduced to Harrison Theodore (Ted) MacDonald in 1942 through a sorority sister at the Kappa Alpha Theta house and they married at the Log Chapel on the campus of Notre Dame on March 7, 1945. She was preceded in death by Harrison Theodore MacDonald, her sister Edna Sullivan, brothers James, Robert and Richard Reifers. Corinne was known for her love of sports that included golf, tennis and anything to do with Purdue University spectator sports. She was also known as a great cook and was always the “Hostess with the mostest.” She is survived by her four children; Mary Taylor of Lafayette, Patrick MacDonald of Lafayette, Anne de Castro (husband Jimmy) of Chicago, James T. MacDonald (wife Mary) of Lafayette; 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Friends will be received from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday August 21 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Blvd. scripture service at 7:30PM . A funeral mass will be celebrated at St Ann Catholic Church, 612 Wabash Avenue, Lafayette on Friday August 22 at 10 AM. Fr. Patrick Baikauskas officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Ann's Soup Kitchen or Bauer Family Resources.
