Constance ”Connie” Lucille Whitacre Stevenson, age 80, passed away Sunday morning December 4, 2016, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Constance was born in Kokomo on July 23, 1936. Connie married David M. Stevenson on September 18, 1954 at Courtland Avenue Friends Church in Kokomo, Indiana.
Connie moved around the U.S. and territories with David while in the Air Force, and helped him build and operate Communications Service Company in Lafayette. They also constructed and operated three broadcasting radio stations. Connie was blessed with artistic talents, and created beautiful artwork and pottery. She loved to decorate, was a Realtor and a Purdue Master Gardener. She also loved to read, music, and watching Christian broadcasting. Her attitude and personality were memorable. David and Connie traveled around the world to 26 countries, many on mission trips to spread Christianity. Survived by her loving husband David, three children; Greg (Cindy) Lafayette, Indiana; Roger, Long Beach, California; and Diane Gorman (Jeff) Mishawaka, Indiana; grandchildren Stacy and Paige Stevenson, Sasha Stevenson, Molly and Kelly Gorman, Cocoa (Big Dog) Stevenson preceded.
Memorial Service October 8, 2017 at 2:00PM at the WhiteHorse Christian Center 1780 Cunberland Ave. West Lafayette, IN 47906 followed by a time of fellowship and refreshments at the church. Officiating Pastor Jeff Johns.
