Cindy Elizabeth (Kaye) Taylor, age 57, unexpectedly passed away Friday, May 1, 2020 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. While courageously battling breast cancer, Cindy never lost her hopeful spirit and, most importantly, her strong faith in God. Though she is profoundly missed here by her family and friends, we gain peace knowing she is in the arms of Jesus now and forever.
Cindy was born January 6th, 1963 in Troy, New York. She is the daughter of Joan and Trevor Kaye and the sister of David Kaye. Her family then moved to Lafayette, IN when she was a child. She attended Lafayette Jefferson High school and graduated with the class of 1981. While Cindy proceeded to live in Lafayette her whole life, she met her soulmate, Anthony Glen Taylor. After dating for 9 years, they married on June 26th, 2004. They remained married for 16 years and had three children together, while continuing to raise Cindy’s two eldest daughters as well.
Cindy was previously employed at First Federal Savings and Loan in Lafayette but also worked for several years as a vault teller for Bank One. Following her employment at Bank One, she became dedicated to being a stay at home wife and mother where she found great satisfaction and joy. In 2015, however, she jumped back into the working field gaining a job as a Para Professional at Miller Elementary School. She genuinely loved helping her kids there and treasuring the friendships she made with her coworkers.
After many rebellious years, she accepted Jesus into her heart and was baptized April 11th, 2004 at Second Baptist Church in Lafayette, IN. In grasping God’s love for her, she was then able to love her family and friends in greater depth. Her family was her life and she loved being a devoted mom. She wasn’t just a mother but a best friend. She lived for the moments cheering on her kids/grandkids at choir shows, sports, graduations, and ballet performances; she never missed a single one. Cindy was a major Purdue fan and Saints football fan. She had a great passion for puzzles, music, nature, running, and animals. Cindy had such a selfless and beautiful spirit that lit up any room she entered. Her smile and laugh were contagious. You would catch her smiling the most during Christmas, her favorite holiday. She loved to serve others whether at her job, at home, or volunteering. Anyone that knew her loved her, so much so, that her children’s friends called her “Momma Taylor”. Her all-consuming love for life, God, and her family will thrive in the hearts of everyone she touched.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony, 4 daughters, and a son: Tiffany Robinson (Cody Oliver), Jordan Miller (Robert Miller), Vanessa Taylor, Victoria Taylor, and Solomon (Alex) Taylor. She is also survived by three grandchildren who called her “Punkin”: Hannah, Jackson, and Rhett. Cindy has several Canadian relatives who loved her dearly, and is proceeded in death by her two aunts, Lillian and Betty.
