Charlotte L Brown, 89, of West Lafayette, Indiana, formerly of Estes Park and Boulder, Colorado passed away November 4, 2012. She was born June 25, 1923 to Orville L and Garnet (Campbell) Lewis in Nodaway County, Missouri. She attended school in Guilford, Missouri and completed Junior College in Kansas City, Missouri. On September 26, 1952 she was united in marriage to J. Vernon Brown in Kansas City, Missouri. They lived in Riverside, California for six years before moving to Boulder, Colorado in 1958. Charlotte worked for Arapahoe Chemical as a bookkeeper, was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian and First Presbyterian Church. She served on both the session and board of deacons. In 1993 they moved to Estes Park, Colorado just to see how they would like living in the mountains, which they did for 19 years.
Charlotte enjoyed family, cooking, counted cross stitch, card making, any kind of crafting and traveling in their RV around North America.
Charlotte is survived by her husband of 60 years, daughter Kay (Tim) Tabert of Oxford, three sisters, Olive (Logan) Snodderly of St. Joseph, Missouri; JoAnn (Martin) Johnson of Prairie Village, Kansas; Karen Swan of Sheridan, Michigan; one brother, Curtis (Doris) Lewis of Graham, Missouri, three grandchildren, Kyra (Brian) Rhoades, Gina Tabert, Nicholas Tabert and finally Charlotte was thrilled to meet and hold her four day old great grandson, McCoy Rhoades.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at St. Andrew Methodist Church in West Lafayette, Indiana, with visitation one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. service; Pastor Tim Burchill officiating. Interment to follow at St. Patrick?s Cemetery, Oxford, Indiana.
