Charles “Peck” Whitsell was born December 2, 1942 in Frankfort to Arthur and Gladys Whitsell. He was an only child. He lived in Stockwell his entire life.
He married Diane Paeth in 1963. They have one daughter, Janis Fromelius (Robert), one grandson Matt Fromelius (Alana) and two great grandchildren, Matilda and Nolan.
He volunteered his time throughout the Stockwell area. He was a founding member of Keep Stockwell Beautiful, Inc. He served on the Keep Stockwell Beautiful Board for nine years and continued as a valued volunteer.
He loved all animals. He was especially fond of his orange tabby, Rusty.
Charles Whitsell was all that is good about small town. He carried a presence that was greater than his stature. The town of Stockwell will greatly miss this gentle soul lovingly known as “The Mayor”.
Friends will be received from 4:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Stockwell United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Berg officiating.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Keep Stockwell Beautiful, Inc.
