Charlene R. Cunningham, 84, of Romney, IN, died at 3:23 PM Sunday October 23, 2011 at St. Mary Health Care. She was born August 9, 1927, in Fowler, IN, to the late Joseph and Ruth Nevitt Sellers.
Charlene graduated from Oxford High School and on November 1, 1960 she married Clarence Cunningham in Davenport, IA and he preceded her in death on May 17, 1986.
Mrs. Cunningham worked for Cintas Laundry for 10 years and retired in 1999. She enjoyed camping, fishing, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children Dave Sellers Sr. wife Sandi, Humble, TX, Chuck Sellers, West Lafayette, IN, Juanita Zackmire husband Darryl, Lafayette, Connie Laffoon husband Duane, Lafayette, Marilyn VanPelt husband Tom, Humble, TX, Tony Cunningham wife Brenda, Lafayette and Eva Laffoon husband Bill, New Richmond.
Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to a 2:00 PM service on Wednesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Romney. Preceded in death by a son Ron Cunningham and a sister Grace Perkins. Those wishing may contribute to the Alzheimers Association.

My mother, Ruth Jackson was Charlene&s roommate at St. Mary&s. I may have met some of you the day we moved them into the new unit.

I talked to my mother&s hospice nurse on Monday and she advised me that Charlene had passed away. I was there about two weeks ago visiting Mom and was able to visit with Charlene. It was always such a joy to visit with her when I visited my mother.

I am so sorry for your loss and offer my deepest sympathy. I will remember her and all her family in my prayers.
