Catherine Jane Clapp, 84, of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community.  She was born March 31, 1933, in Odel to the late Peter and Carrie Snouwaert Synesael.  Jane attended Jackson Township School and St. Frances School.  

On May 16, 1952 she married Donald T. Clapp in Attica and he survives.  Jane was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and the Jackson High School lunch club.  She enjoyed reading, traveling and shopping.   She was very proud of her six generations of nieces and nephews.   

Surviving along with her husband are her daughters Jennifer J. Wilcox, Jill (Lee) Riemenschneider all of Lafayette, grandsons Ian and Luke Riemenschneider and her dog Tinkerbell.  Catherine was preceded by brothers George, Leo and Charles Synesael, and her sister Ruby Wolf. 

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd.   Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am on Monday at St Ann’s Catholic Church, Father Dominic Young officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Lafayette.  Memorial Contributions may be made to: Autism Awareness or St. Matthew 25 Share and Care.
