Carolyn J. McNeil

Carolyn Jean McNeil of West Lafayette, Indiana, passed away on April 6, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on March 19, 1944, in Crystal City, Missouri, to Vincent A. and Betty Jo (Manley) Wagner, Carolyn married Michael J. McNeil in 1963. Carolyn loved her family deeply, enjoyed traveling with her husband and good friends, relished sunshine and beaches, never said no to a stray animal or person, appreciated a good mystery or spy novel, and Easter was her very favorite holiday. She is survived by her husband, Mike, daughters Beth McNeil (Wes Welch), Ann Braught (Bill), and son John McNeil (Kari), and grandchildren Emily Braught (Shannon Mulqueen), Andy Braught (Emilie Greene), Katherine Braught-Grayson (Sam Grayson), Haley, Michael, Jack, and Avery McNeil, and Elijah Welch, her brother Terry Wagner, and Lily her good dog and reading buddy. Her parents and grandson, Nick Welch, preceded her in death. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick of Merna in Bloomington, IL., with visitation at 10 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Patrick of Merna church, which serves community members in need.
