Carole LaDawn Johnson, 72, of Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Signature Health Care.
She was born May 15, 1943, in Washington, DC, to the late Elbert and Juel Thomas Seeds.
her marriage was to Larry Wayne Johnson and he survives.
LaDawn worked as a registered nurse for 26 years at Home Hospital before retiring in 2005.
She was a member of Elston Family Church. LaDawn was the kind of person who didn’t know a stranger. If you needed a tender touch, a kind word, or a smile to brighten your day she was the woman for the job. She had a way of putting others first, and treated others the way she wanted to be treated. If you just met her or knew her for a lifetime she was your biggest cheerleader. She was a faithful wife and loved her beloved well for 50 years. She was the best mom her daughters could’ve ever asked for, not to mention she was a mom to anyone who knew her. She honored her parents, was a great oldest “seester” sister.
If you had the privilege of meeting her, your life would never be the same!
Surviving along with her husband are two daughters, Jennifer Brovont (husband Jeff) and Rebecca Lynn Johnson both of Lafayette along with two sisters, Rhonda Mulloy (husband Bob) of Florida and Lora Seeds of Virginia.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of the service at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel with Rev. Randy Skidmore officiating. Burial will follow at Meadow View Cemetery.
If it’s on your heart to give financially, please do something kind for someone…buy a gift card, a meal, flowers, write a card of encouragement and give it away with a smile on your face! LaDawn loves Jesus with all of her heart and would tell you that God can take care of anything.
