Carol Haynes, 83, of Lafayette, Indiana passed away on February 20 surrounded by her family at home. Carol was born in Lafayette, Indiana on October 1, 1937 and was the daughter of Leonard J. Beckman and Eleanor (Schetzsle) Beckman. She was first married to Everett A. Klinker, Jr. (“Tony”), who passed away in 1968. She married Larry E. Haynes on April 24, 1970.
Carol graduated from St. Francis High School in 1955 and went on to pursue dental hygiene at IU Dental School, where she graduated in 1957. She was a dental hygienist for 45 years with the practices of Dr’s Y.B. Hall, Jack Mollenkopf, John Jorczak and Dan Sakel. Carol was part of the Sweet Adelines, Schola St. Boniface, Purdue Extension Chorus, Late Boomers, Ambassadors Sr. Center, the Tippecanoe County Extension Homemakers and the Red Hat Society. Carol was passionate about singing and her hobbies included travel, MC shows, watching movies on TiVo and she loved and adored all animals, with a special place in her heart for dogs.
She was predeceased by her parents, her son, Mark Klinker, one stepson, Rick Haynes and her brother, Norbert J. Beckman.
She’s survived by her husband, Larry Haynes (“Diamond”) of Lafayette; two sons, James Klinker and wife Debra Moffatt of Lafayette Indiana; David Klinker and wife Michelle Klinker of Cameron Park, California; and two stepsons, Mark Haynes and wife Carol Haynes of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Matt Haynes and wife Wanda Haynes of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; three grandchildren David Klinker Jr. and his husband Ales Rudisar of New York, New York, Cindy Hinds of Cameron Park, California and Ian Klinker of Lafayette, Indiana; one great grandchild, nine step-grandchildren and five step-great grand-children. Carol will be missed as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Sing with the angels until we meet again. A private service was held on Wednesday February 24, 2021 at St Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Lafayette, In.
