The family may not remember me, because I was a teenager when I last saw Carl. My grandparents were extremely close friends with his parents, Owen and Marie. We used to go to their house a lot, and they to ours, right up until they passed. I played with Jerry mostly, but I remember Bobby as well.

I feel a close connection somehow, and I want you to all know that I admired and cared about the Downham family. Whenever I get back to Lafayette, I try to visit the places of my memories, and that includes the Downham farm area south on 52. I also do genealogy work, and believe that somewhere we do have a link to the Edging family.

Being the last surviving member of the family I grew up with, I know the pain of loss. And I also know the importance of remembering and cherishing the love and memories of those I shared life with. May God bless each of you with His presence and loving care. May He strengthen and assure you that Carl is in His arms. Best wishes for all of you!

Dear Gloria, Milissa, and Dale,

With deepest sypathy for your loss of Carl. I suppose that he is fishing or playing horseshoes with Mom and Dad about now. I got to work today and saw it in the paper so I called Greg and told him I would like him to represent our family, hoping that he could get away from work to do so. Will keep you in my prayers and knowing that God is holding your whole family in his arms at this sad time. Blessings from the Small Family..Greg, Martha, Arthur and Jimmy
