Bruce E. DeHahn, 64, died peacefully Sunday, March 25 in his home in Puyallup, WA. Bruce was born on Nov. 23, 1947, in Lafayette, to Margeurite L. (Brettnacher) and Bernard H. DeHahn. He attended St. Lawrence Catholic School and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1965. On August 6, 1966, he married his sweetheart, J. Carol Bosworth, and together they had 3 daughters. They divorced in 1979 but remained close friends.
Bruce retired as a general store manager of the K Mart Corporation in 1994 after 30 years of service. Following his retirement he traveled the United States visiting his family and the many friends he made during his various K-Mart Assignments. Bruce obtained his realtor license and sold homes in the Seattle area for a number of years. Most recently Bruce was employed by Sams Club in Puyallup, WA.
He is survived by his daughters, Theresa Byess, of Stockbridge, GA, Tammy Hemmie (Mike) of Puyallup, WA, and Tonya McConahy (EJ) of Carrollton, GA; his 4 grandchildren, Dylan Bringle, Jenna Byess, Blake and Breanna McConahy; a brother, Bernard “Benny” DeHahn (Bonnie); and a sister, Marcia Beutler (Scott) and a cadre of friends. Also surviving are 17 nieces and nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary F. DeHahn Schott.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 4 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1916 Meharry St. Lafayette, IN 47904 with Fr. Dan Gartland officiating. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
