Bruce A. Highland, 58, of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at St. Anthony Health Care. He was born September 29, 1961, in Lafayette to the late Harry and Elizabeth Stoker Highland. Bruce graduated from Harrison High School in 1979. His marriage was to Barbara Harkness in Alabama and she preceded him in death. Bruce worked as a Dog Trainer for Victoryland Greyhound Park in Shorter, AL for 15 years.
Surviving is his son Joshua A. (Julia) Highland of Eclectic, AL, stepsons Joe Webb of Snellville, GA, Jonathan Webb of Columbus, SC and 5 grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings Ron (Donna) Highland of Linden, Steve (Sue) Highland, Deb (Steve) Stetler all of Lafayette. Bruce was preceded in death by a grandson. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Anthony’s Health Care for their compassion, love and friendship.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am on Monday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Rev. Chester Tague Jr. officiating. Entombment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum in West Lafayette, Indiana. The family requests that friends and family attending the service dress casual. Memorial contributions may be made to Buck Creek Fire Department or charity of donor’s choice in Bruce’s memory.
