Brian W. Phillips, 40, of Lafayette died at his home with his family by his side on Saturday, October 24, 2015, after a short struggle with cancer. He was born August 24, 1975, in Lafayette to Carolyn Lester Phillips of Lafayette and the late Michael Phillips. On July 12, 2015, he married Amanda Moore his partner of life for the past 13 years and she survives. Brian owned and operated Phillips Drywall in Lafayette for 20 years. He enjoyed music, guitars, refurbishing antique radios and building guitar tube amps. He loved spending time with his children, especially putting together HO train sets and lego sets. Surviving along with his wife are his children Adrienne Phillips, Renea Phillips, Dylan Harcourt all at home, Britney Rushing of Lafayette and a grandson Jaxson Rushing-Cox. Also surviving are his sisters Michelle Phillips, Carrie Phillips and a grandmother Mary Lester all of Lafayette. Brian was preceded in death by his brother Christopher Phillips, grandmother Rose Rathbone and grandfather William “Bud” Lester. Visitation will be 5:00 PM -7:00 PM Thursday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service will be at 7:00 PM Thursday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Pastor Danny Stogsdill officiating. Those wishing may contribute to a fund set up to support the needs of their children, please make checks payable to Christ Central Church, 7371 Jordan Village Road, Poland, IN 47868. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
