Bob Bresnahan

On Aug. 28,1968, he married Donna J. Aveline in Lafayette, and they divorced.
He served in the Marine Corps from Jan. 5, 1967, to Jan. 3, 1970, during Vietnam War.
Mr. Bresnahan was a firefighter for the city of Lafayette from 1977 until 2000, retiring after 23 years of service.
He was a member of VFW, 40&8 and American Legion Post 492.
Surviving with his father who lives in Port Charlotte, Fla., are a daughter, Amber Bowman (husband: Chris) of Monticello; two sons, Ross Bresnahan (wife: Michelle) of Bastrop,Texas, and David Bresnahan (wife: Jessica) of Zephyrhills, Fla.; a brother, Mike Bresnahan (wife: Sue) of Port Charlotte; and a sister, Myrna Marquess of Frankfort.
Also surviving are 7 granddaughters.
Visitation will be 9-11a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, Fr. Ambrose Ziegler officiating, followed by military rites by American Legion Post 492 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. www.soller-baker.com

HI Amber, sorry we have doctor appoinments. Our thoughts will be with the family today . We liked Bob and will always remember him saying good by when we left 492.He was a gentleman.
