Betty Joan (Reynolds) Blofeld, 82, of Dayton, died Thursday, May 23, 2019 at St. Anthony Health Care with family by her side.
She was born October 21, 1936 in Marshfield to the late Clarence and Josie Marie (England) Reynolds. She graduated from Williamsport High School and obtained her nursing certification. She married John Richard Blofeld in December 1982 in St. Petersburg, FL. Betty worked as a registered nurse until her retirement.
She enjoyed playing bingo, collecting snowmen and vintage blue glass. In her later years, thanks to her granddaughter-in-law, Jamie she was obsessed with her colorful “loud” pants, getting her nails done, wearing make-up and jewelry. She enjoyed having visitors at St. Anthony and especially enjoyed time with her favorite nurses. Above all else, Betty cherished time spent with her family, grandchildren, and best friend, Martha.
She is survived by her grandson, Jason (Jamie) Cole; 2 granddaughters, Toni (Gino) Sutton, Abby (Jake) Jackson; 7 great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Cole, Kalyn, Olivia, and Isabelle Rowlett, and Jaiden Jackson, Dani Caudill, and Lyric Robinson; several great-great grandchildren; a niece, Sherry Pearson; and “adopted” grandson and Jason’s best friend, Travis Meyer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Josie; her husband, John; 2 children, Jody M. Rogers and Daniel Cole; 2 brothers, 3 sisters; and her best friend Martha Morrison.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Anthony’s Health Care for all of the care and love that was provided to “Grandma” and the family. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
Services for Betty will be held at a later date.
