Betty J Overley

Betty J. Overley, 85, of Lafayette, died at 3:32 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Rosewalk Commons.
She was born March 5, 1926, in Warren County, and was the daughter of the late Clyde and Lucy Barwick Auter. On Aug. 5, 1948, she married George Overley in Attica and he died in November 1983.
Mrs. Overley was a homemaker and had formerly worked at Lafayette Life.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and enjoyed watching TV, garage sales, traveling, gardening and spending time with family.
Surviving are a daughter, Deborah L Roberts of Flowery Branch, Ga.; a son, George Overley Jr. (wife: Paula) of Lafayette; and sisters, Viola Hodge of Sanford, Ky., Violet Brown of Lafayette and Verna Bartlett of Muncie.
Also surviving are 2 grandchildren Ciera and Austin Overley.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Funeral service 1 p.m. Monday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Pastor Norm Nellis officiating. Burial will be at Spring Vale Cemetery. Preceded in death by son, Tom Overley. Those wishing may contribute to the Grace United Methodist Church.
