Benjamin E. Huston, 86, of Lafayette, died February 12, 2014 at Indiana University Health Arnett. He was born November 11, 1927 in Wolcott, to the late Leland and Zella Blackburn Huston. Benjamin graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1945. On October 19, 1952 he married Lu Alice Smith in Dayton and she survives. Benjamin worked at Landis & Gyr for over 39 years as a punch press operator. He was a member of Dayton Memorial Presbyterian Church. Mr. Huston was an avid bowler for over 60 years here in Lafayette and held the cities highest average for several years. Benjamin was awarded several awards and citations both at state and local levels. Surviving along with his wife are a son Lyle Kurt Huston (Dena) of Battle Ground, a daughter Rebecca Diann Huston Sprague (Brian Keith) ofLafayette; two sisters Maycel Vaughn ofLafayette, Clara Leona Slaybaugh (Bob) of Battle Ground; a brother James Leland Huston of Lafayette; six granchildren, Jason Ty Huston, Megan Nicole Sprague, Candice Dawn Huston, Zachary Keith Sprague, Kelly Rene' Ortez and Bailey Alexandra Sprague along with eight great grand children. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Dayton Memorial Presbyterian Church. Pastor Justin Schlesinger-Devlin will be officiating. He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Lee Huston.
