Beatrice B. Hibbs, 95, of Oxford died at 7:15 AM Monday, January 18, 2010 at Waters of Williamsport, Williamsport, IN.
She was born November 18, 1914, in Kirklin, IN, to the late Laurin Arvid, and Clara Catherine Brown Anderson.
On 09/09/1937, she married Edgar G. “Bud” Hibbs in Oxford, and he preceded her in death on January 14, 1998. Beatrice, with her husband, “Bud”, owned the Edgar G Hibbs Trucking Service.
Beatrice was one of the founding members of the Oxford Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School and played piano for services. Beatrice was a member of The Benton County Historical Society, and Secretary-Treasurer of the Oxford West Cemetery Association.
Surviving are two daughters, Marsha Ann Smith, husband Richard C, of Swansea, IL, and Brenda Yvonne Daulton of Boswell, IN. She is also survived by one former son-in-law, Dr. James A. Miller, Cortland, NY, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive, many given to her by her sister, Wilma Mae Anderson Atkinson, who preceeded her in death October 2009.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday at the Oxford Church of Christ. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Friday at the Oxford Church of Christ, Rev. Larry McMillan officiating. Burial will be at Oxford West Cemetery.
