Baron J. Pilotte

Baron J. Pilotte, 81, of Lafayette, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October, 11 after an extended illness.
He was born on November, 20, 1930, in Fowler, Indiana, to the late Leonell J. Pilotte and Myrtle (Arseneau) Pilotte. Baron was a 1948 graduate of Fowler High School in Fowler, Indiana. Baron graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and proudly served in the United States Army for two years during the Korean War. He was retired from the United States Postal Service.
Baron was a life member of the American Legion Post 11, where he dedicated himself to honoring fallen soldiers through his regular service on the Firing Squad Honor Guard. He was an active member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church and served on a regular basis as an usher and hospitality minister.
On June 27, 1959, Baron married Etta Marie Stichter, who survives. Surviving along with his wife is his daughter, Ann M. Taylor (husband: David); son John C. Pilotte (wife: Sandra); five grandchildren, Lauren, Alex and Max Taylor, and Christopher and Ryan Pilotte.
He was preceded in death by three brothers; four sisters and a niece.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7pm At the Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel Mass 10:30am Monday at St. Mary Cathedral Fr. Daniel Gartland officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery.
