Barbara J. Walkey, died June 16, 2014, at Bickford Cottage. She was the youngest of fifteen children and the only survivor of the late Harry Dale and Pearl Harner. She is a graduate of the Jefferson High School Class of 1946. On August 31, 1947, she married LeRoy Shipley. They divorced June 14, 1963. Barbara is survived by five children, Steven L. Shipley of Chula Vista, CA; Jeffrey Lynn Shipley Sr. of Imperial Beach, CA; Linda Valashategis of Newbury, MA; Joyce Alders of Amesbury, MA; and Carol Sery of Montgomery, MN. Twelve grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a very, very dear niece Nancy Harner survive. On June 10, 1989, she married John Walkey and he preceded her in death November, 1989. She held down lots of full-time jobs and part-time jobs. She liked sewing all kinds of things, crafts of all kinds, latch hook rugs and refinishing furniture. Most of all, she enjoyed her family, home and delivering flowers for local florists. There will be no service.
