Barbara J. Hunter, 84
Barbara Jean Hunter, 84, of Lafayette, died at 4:02 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Central.
Born Oct. 27, 1925, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. and IdaBelle Towsley Adams.
She graduated from West Lafayette High School and attended Purdue University. She was an accomplished artist as a young woman.
Mrs. Hunter was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bridge.
Surviving are two daughters, Starley Hunter Moraga (husband: Frank) of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Abigail Reuter (husband: Charles) of Tehachapi, Calif.; and two sons, Charles Hunter II (wife: Teresa) of Lafayette and Richard Hunter of Wisconsin.
Also surviving are grandchildren, William Brand II, Chantal Hunter, Charles Hunter III (wife: Elizabeth), Joscelyn Rivers (husband: Daniel), Douglas and Mark Reuter, and Maria Cortez (husband: Rudy); and a great-grandchild, David Cortez. Preceding her in death with her parents were 2 brothers, Richard T. and Ralph Adams; and a sister, Jane Gordon.
Visitation 1:30-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Pastor Owen Mason officiating.
